Letter to cancel a gym membership or subscription
If a gym or subscription company is making it hard to cancel, a written letter gives you a clear record of when you asked to leave and why.
Things to check first
- Your contract's minimum term and notice period.
- Whether you signed up online or by phone. You usually have 14 days to cancel those contracts.
- Whether a term is unfair. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, unfair terms in consumer contracts are not binding on you.
Keep paying only what you owe under the contract, and keep a copy of your letter.
One-off price, no subscription: £2.99 for most letters, £4.99 for a flight claim letter, or £9.99 with the escalation letter. The data broker removal pack and the letter before claim pack are £4.99 each. Prices include VAT. Print and post is coming soon.
Common questions
Can I just cancel my direct debit?
Cancelling the direct debit doesn't end the contract on its own. Send a letter too, so there's a record.
